Course Structure
The course is divided into eight one-day modules, all of which must be completed in order to receive the final issue certificate. The courses run from 10am to 5pm, with one hour for lunch: six hours each and 48 hours in total towards any continuing professional training requirements for qualified reflexologists. The modules are run at weekends at specific locations but various times of year.
The day is divided into lecture-style theory work in the morning leading to practical application of everything learned for the afternoon session. The work is intensive and will give students the opportunity to try out many techniques pioneered by Lee and demonstrated to be of enormous benefit to patients.
Two modules ‘Reflexology for Men’s Health’ and ‘Reflexology for Head and Back Problems’ have been extended from half-day to full-day courses from 2005.
Previous students from the ‘Men’s Health’ and ‘Head and Back Problems’ courses can apply for refresher updates on the booking form pages.

Module I - ‘The Dynamics of Healing’
Why do some patients not get better? How can we use different approaches to help them improve? What can we as therapists learn from ‘stuck’ patients?
This first module in the ‘Effective Reflexology™’ series will look at the role of both the practitioner and the patient in the healing process, at what is expected of them and what isn’t. There is an element of mystery surrounding Multiple Sclerosis. What exactly is it?
One statistic shows that it is on the increase in the Northern Hemisphere with Scotland having the highest incidences in the world of one in 2000 people affected. Despite this rise in numbers, clinicians, GPs and specialists still have very little understanding of what causes this debilitating condition, and consequently there have been a number of misdiagnoses. However, one thing is certain: patients with MS symptoms respond very well to the healing power of reflexology in the key areas of pain, fatigue and spasm.
This module allows you the therapist to use the tools of reflexology you have learned more effectively. In it, you will learn new, powerful and immediately useful techniques to assist in the healing process, you will abandon any lingering fear of treating and develop a better understanding of what MS is actually all about.

Processes such as IVF can bring joy to couples who believe they could never have children but success rates are not high. More and more couples are now choosing the complementary route in order to have their babies and reflexology is clearly shown to have remarkable effects in helping those people to realise their dream.

Module V - ‘Reflexology for Men’s Health’
Do you have problems with the man in your life taking care of himself? Does he need constant mothering or is he taking control?
Traditionally, men have been notorious for neglecting their health. However, in recent years the tide has turned and this is clearly demonstrated by the boom in sales of men’s health and fitness products targeted at all ages.
The signs are that men are more concerned about their appearance, keeping their bodies in shape and living more healthily than ever before. A larger percentage of men now take responsibility for their health looking for help to deal with all the stresses and strains of modern living.
‘Reflexology for Men’s Health’ will include discussion and demonstrations on
Men may be taking the lead but they still need a helping hand. The new and exciting techniques learned on this module will both convert and inspire men to keep trying reflexology as a form of preventative healthcare.
Module VI - ‘Reflexology for Head and Back Problems’
Millions of working days are lost each year as the workforce of the nation copes with the crippling conditions associated with head and back problems.
GP surgeries are overrun with people seeking pain relief and a permanent solution to longstanding problems such as headaches, migraines, painful back joints, ligament damage or sciatica.
Reflexology has the ability to cut through the pain and has consistently demonstrated itself to be a very effective analgesic for many of these debilitating problems. Most reflexologists will regularly have patients with these specific conditions and all are looking for new ways to deal with them.

The pace of daily living shows no signs of slowing down but these new techniques can help your patients to regain control of their health, free from restriction and pain.
Module VII - ‘Reflexology for the Diabetic Patient
Humanity is facing a global crisis with diabetes. The disease is reaching pandemic proportions in all corners of the world and it is forecast that by 2030 there will be more than 300 million people affected by the condition worldwide.
The sad fact about diabetes is that a significant amount of cases are preventable and that intervention by the patient can keep it at bay. Reflexology can play an integral part in maintaining good health when patients take responsibility for their own health and change their lifestyle accordingly. Even the most severe of diabetic symptoms can be alleviated when the patient and practitioner work closely together using some powerful techniques shown on this module.
‘Reflexology for the Diabetic Patient’ will give practical advice and include demonstrations on
This much-maligned condition, viewed as a contraindication, is in need of a fresh approach by reflexologists. We cannot ignore the huge demand for help coming our way from patients with this disease and must respond, as therapists, with the confidence borne from a greater awareness of the condition.
Module VIII - ‘How Reflexology Helps with Allergies and Intolerances’
The statistics are shocking: more than 18 million people in the UK (almost a third of the population) have some form of allergic reaction. Equally shocking is that there are only six specialist allergy centres in the UK to deal with this epidemic.
People are resorting to alternatives to help ease the suffering as our body systems seem unable to deal with the onslaught and are in desperate need of detoxification and rebalancing. This is where reflexology fits in.
‘How Reflexology Helps with Allergies and Intolerances’ will include discussion and demonstrations on
Whether the problem is with food, animals, metals, drugs or something totally unexplained, the reflexology techniques demonstrated here have a very profound and powerful effect, restoring strength and vitality to affected areas and allowing the patient to meet the challenges brought by this assault on the senses.
