The days are numbered for stagnant energy and there is no longer anywhere for illness to hide. Reflexologists can now reach all parts of the body from every angle with Coronal Zone Reflex Therapy™. This revolutionary new perspective within reflexology permits the therapist deep into the concealed recesses of the body where toxicity lurks and allows the patient to clear their systems more efficiently and effectively. Its founder Lee Anthony Taylor explains this innovative approach to working on the sides of the feet and states why it is important for us to start thinking laterally.
For many years we have been accessing reflexes on the sole and on the top of the foot. Reflex definition on the lateral and medial edge has been somewhat limited and the region has remained largely uncharted. However, by working through the coronal zone, an additional wealth of diagnostic information has now become available, along with an exciting and powerful method of removing stagnation from deep within the core of the body.
As we already know, reflexology works through the zones clearing stagnation in the same way that a snowplough clears a heavy drift in midwinter. This toxicity can be locked up deep within the tissues, muscles, organs or glands and can be removed by working longitudinally down the zones a la Fitzgerald or sagittally through the sole or top of the foot. But there has been one direction missing until now.
Since energy radiates outwards from a central point in all three dimensions (or cardinal planes), therapists finally have access to previously hidden away stagnation by working through the coronal zone.
The treatment
The term coronal comes from the Latin ‘crown’ and is an imaginary anatomical dividing line. It is the line in the body that crosses from left side to right side (and vice versa) and segments the body into front and back.
The finger pressure used in the treatment is light but firm and, after several years of refinement, the 72 points on each foot are precise.
I have taught and demonstrated this easy-to-use technique to students all over the world and the reaction to treatment has been extraordinary. Therapists have reported a tingling or a buzzing, like a low hum, under their fingers as the energy starts to circulate once more in the coronal plane. Conditions have responded immediately as any remaining hidden areas are quickly cleared.
I have found 40 precise points on the internal aspect (medial side) and 32 on the external aspect (lateral edge) of each foot. A small number of these will be familiar to reflexologists, such as the uterus/prostate or the bladder on the inner border or the shoulder and knee on the outer margin, but the coronal zone points I have documented chart every system in the body since they all exist in three dimensions and can, therefore, be approached from the side perspective. The points are found in a broad band in the centre of the medial and lateral views of both feet
The uses and applications of Coronal Zone Reflex Therapy™ are manifold, identifying and explaining conditions which may have previously been thought to be strictly skeletal, e.g. spinal (on the medial edge) or shoulder, arm, knee and hip (on the lateral edge). The reflex points came about as a result of remapping all the inconsistencies in the charts and realising that all parts of the body could be reached from the outer margins into the core or from the centre of the body radiating out to the side.
The coronal zone is the last of the three cardinal zones, at right angles to the longitudinal and transverse zones. The potent energy that can be released by working through this plane will be, I believe, an invaluable asset in the treatment process for all reflexology practitioners.
Its power and effectiveness can be demonstrated in the following case studies:-
